Chemical Peels

What is a chemical peel?

Chemical Peels are a treatment in which a licensed professional applies an acid solution to the skin to deeply exfoliate and remove the damaged layers of the epidermis.

This type of exfoliation will effectively help to treat concerns of:

  • Texture
  • Blemishes
  • Congestion
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Loss of elasticity

Chemical peels have been used for many years, dating back to ancient times when Cleopatra would bathe in sour milk to keep her skin soft and glowing.

A chemical peel will:

  • Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Strengthen skin, keeping it active and youthful
  • Improve the appearance of texture and scarring
  • Help to treat most grades of acne
  • Reduce age spots, melasma, and PIH

In order to receive a chemical peel, the skin must be prepped and ready. Lack of preparation can lead to issues during and after the treatment, including healing time. It’s important to take the necessary steps in order to achieve the optimum results. Skin preparation would be discussed during your first appointment.
