What is Belkyra®?
Belkyra® is used to permanently diminish small pockets of fat on the body such as a double chin, bra bulges, inner thigh fat, and belly fat. In the US it is sold under the trade name Kybella.
How does Belkyra® work?
The active ingredient in Belkyra® is synthetic deoxycholic acid, which is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected Belkyra destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected.
How much does Belkyra® cost?
You will need at least 2-4 treatments of Belkyra®, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Pricing is based on the size of he area being treated. Treatments start at $1000.
When will I see results?
Noticeable results are visible in 60-90 days.
How long do results last?
Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat and results are permanent.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments varies from patient to patient. Your healthcare specialist will help determine how many treatment sessions you need based on the amount and distribution of your fat and your personal treatment goals.
Will I need time to recover?
Bruising and swelling is common. Give yourself a minimum of 2 weeks before any events/vacations.
